Therapy for CPTSD
Healing Complex Trauma from the Inside Out
Living with complex trauma can make everyday life feel like a lot—emotionally overwhelming, exhausting, and just hard to navigate. It can feel like you’re constantly on alert, with emotional triggers that send you into fight-or-flight mode out of nowhere. Flashbacks, dissociation, and always being hyper-aware can make it tough to feel safe, even in places that should feel familiar. There might be a heavy sense of shame, guilt, or fear lingering under the surface, and trusting others or forming deep connections can feel like an uphill battle. Relationships can feel unsafe, and intimacy is hard to even think about, with fears of being abandoned or engulfed. You might find yourself stuck in emotional cycles—withdrawal, anger, numbness—that leave you feeling disconnected from who you are and the people around you. And when things get too much, avoidance might kick in—avoiding situations, people, or even emotions that feel like too much to handle. It’s like you’re caught in a loop, struggling with memories and feelings that feel way too big to hold on your own.
In therapy, we’ll dig into these patterns and make sense of what’s going on. My approach is relational and grounded in the here-and-now, meaning we’ll focus on what’s happening for you in the present moment. Using IFS and somatic therapy, we’ll look at how your past experiences show up in your emotional and physical reactions today. We’ll get curious about the parts of you holding onto pain, fear, or defense mechanisms and gently guide them toward healing. Somatic practices will help you tune into your body’s wisdom, release that built-up tension, and start feeling more grounded in yourself. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered—so you can heal, learn to trust yourself and others, regulate your emotions, and move through life with more peace and resilience.
